This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit BeLike AI, create an account, request an Instagram audience forecast, purchase or use the professional service, or contact support.

1. Controller and contact

The data controller is EDTECH MARKET LLP, the legal operator of BeLike AI. Full corporate identification details are set out in Section 1 of the Terms of Service.

Where EU GDPR Article 27 requires an EEA representative, BeLike will identify the representative actually appointed and provide the contact details required by law. BeLike does not claim that a representative has been appointed where no such appointment exists.

2. Data we may process

Depending on how you use the service, we may process:

account and contact data, such as email address and account identifiers;
country, language and information reasonably needed to establish professional/business customer status;
the Instagram username/handle you provide;
information visible from a public Instagram profile and campaign/service metrics that BeLike is lawfully permitted to use;
targeting preferences, service settings and campaign instructions;
plan, subscription, billing status, transaction identifiers, invoice/receipt metadata and payment-status data;
support communications, including communications handled by BeLike’s human support channels such as Jivo where enabled;
device/browser, IP, security, fraud-prevention, diagnostic and service-usage information;
consent and preference records; and
cookies or similar storage information as described below.

3. Data we do not request as part of the contracted service

BeLike does not request your Instagram password.

BeLike does not require you to give BeLike unauthorised Instagram access tokens or third-party login credentials for the contracted service.

Where payment-card entry is handled directly by Stripe or another payment provider, BeLike receives transaction/payment status and limited billing metadata needed for the service rather than the full card number, except where a separate lawful payment flow is specifically disclosed.

4. Why we use personal data and legal bases

We use data only for defined purposes, including:

Contract / steps requested before contract

creating and administering your BeLike account;
providing forecasts or service information you request;
delivering the professional service;
managing plans, subscriptions, billing and cancellation;
customer support.

Legal obligations

accounting, tax and legally required transaction records;
responding to lawful requests and exercising or defending legal claims;
sanctions, fraud or other compliance obligations where applicable.

Legitimate interests

Where permitted and not overridden by your rights:

securing the service and preventing fraud/abuse;
diagnosing faults and improving reliability;
measuring service performance and understanding professional service use;
protecting BeLike’s legal rights and enforcing the Terms.

Consent

Where required:

non-essential analytics, advertising or similar tracking technologies;
other optional processing for which consent is the appropriate legal basis.

You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

5. Public Instagram information

Providing an Instagram handle may allow BeLike to use public profile information or service metrics only through lawful and authorised means available to BeLike.

This Policy does not authorise scraping, unauthorised automated collection or circumvention of Instagram/Meta controls. BeLike processes such information only through methods that are lawful and authorised for the relevant use.

6. Recipients and service providers

Personal data may be shared only as reasonably necessary with categories such as:

Stripe, where used, for payment/subscription processing, fraud prevention and related payment functions;
Jivo, where enabled, for human support/chat functionality;
hosting, security, email, infrastructure and operational service providers;
professional advisers, auditors or insurers where reasonably necessary; and
regulators, courts, law-enforcement or other authorities where disclosure is legally required.

Providers acting for BeLike are expected to process data under appropriate contractual and security obligations. A third party may act as an independent controller for its own legally defined purposes; its own privacy information then also applies.

BeLike does not sell personal data as a standalone data product.

7. International transfers

Data may be processed in the United Kingdom, EEA or other countries in which approved providers operate.

Where data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, BeLike must use an applicable lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards, and supplementary measures where required.

8. Retention

BeLike keeps personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for applicable legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, security and claims periods.

Different categories therefore have different retention periods. In deciding a period, BeLike considers the active service relationship, statutory record-keeping duties, limitation periods, security needs, dispute history and whether data can be deleted or de-identified sooner.

Data is deleted or irreversibly de-identified when there is no longer a lawful reason to retain it.

9. Security

BeLike applies reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the data and the risks involved. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for protecting your own email, device and Instagram credentials and should not send passwords or full payment-card data through support chat.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

BeLike may use storage/cookies that are strictly necessary for account, security, language, session, consent or other essential functionality.

Where applicable law requires consent for analytics, advertising or other non-essential technologies, those technologies must not be activated until valid consent has been obtained. Refusing non-essential tracking must not prevent use of service functionality that does not require it.

You can later change or withdraw consent through the available privacy/consent control.

11. Your data-protection rights

Subject to applicable UK GDPR, EU GDPR and local law, you may have rights to:

access your personal data;
correct inaccurate data;
request deletion;
restrict processing;
object to processing based on legitimate interests;
data portability where applicable;
withdraw consent; and
complain to a competent supervisory authority.

Rights are not absolute and may be limited where law permits or requires continued processing.

For UK matters, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. If EU GDPR applies, you may also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority in the EEA country relevant to you.

12. Automated analysis

AI may assist BeLike with analysis, forecasting, targeting or prioritisation. BeLike does not rely on this Policy to authorise solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on an individual where applicable law prohibits doing so without an appropriate basis and safeguards.

13. Children

The paid service is intended for adults acting professionally or for organisations and is not directed to children. Do not submit personal data of a child unless there is a lawful, necessary and expressly agreed reason to do so.

14. Changes to this Policy

BeLike may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, providers, data practices or the service. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
